We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a full-time permanent shearer. This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about working with animals, has a strong work ethic, and is eager to learn. No prior experience is required, but candidates with relevant experience are also welcome to apply.
Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and safely shear sheep using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Monitor the health and well-being of the flock during and after shearing.
- Assist in managing and maintaining records of sheep care, including shearing schedules.
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operation of daily tasks.
- Adhere to safety protocols and follow instructions provided by management.
Skill Requirements:
- Physical stamina and endurance to work in physically demanding conditions.
- Compassion and care for animals, ensuring their welfare at all times.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and address any issues related to shearing or flock health.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
- Basic understanding of farm operations and animal husbandry (an asset).
