We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join our team as a Wine Maker. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to launch or grow their career in the wine industry. As a Wine Maker, you will play a key role in the production of high-quality wines by assisting in all aspects of winemaking, from harvest to bottling. This role offers hands-on experience and the chance to work closely with experienced professionals in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior winemakers in all stages of wine production, including fermentation, blending, aging, and bottling.
- Monitor wine quality by conducting sensory evaluations and basic laboratory tests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of winery equipment and facilities to ensure optimal operating conditions.
- Participate in vineyard activities, such as monitoring fruit quality and assisting during harvest.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new wine styles or improve existing processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in winemaking.
Skill Requirements:
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in oenology, viticulture, food science, chemistry, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic knowledge of winemaking techniques, wine chemistry, and vineyard practices.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced environment, including standing for long periods, lifting up to 40kg, and working in varying temperatures and conditions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- A passion for wine, willingness to learn, and commitment to producing exceptional quality wines.
