This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with animals in a dynamic agricultural setting. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day care of goats, ensuring their health, welfare, and productivity. Experience is not required, but candidates with experience are encouraged to apply. On-farm training will be provided to support your growth and development in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Care for the daily needs of the goat herd, including feeding, watering, and monitoring health and behavior.
- Maintain pastures, paddocks, and facilities to ensure a clean and safe environment for goats.
- Assist with breeding programs, including reproductive health checks and kidding season support.
- Monitor and record animal health, weight, and productivity, maintaining accurate records.
- Implement best practices in goat care, disease prevention, and biosecurity.
- Perform routine maintenance on farming equipment and tools.
- Adhere to all relevant safety standards and regulations.
Skill Requirements:
- A genuine passion for working with animals and a commitment to their welfare.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new techniques and technologies.
