As a Mixed Crop and Livestock Farmer, you will be responsible for managing the production of crops (e.g., cereals, vegetables, or fodder) and overseeing the care and management of livestock. This role involves hands-on work, including planting, cultivating, harvesting, feeding animals, and maintaining farm infrastructure. The ideal candidate should be hardworking, detail-oriented, and passionate about agriculture.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, plant, and manage crop production to maximize yield and quality.
- Monitor soil health, apply fertilizers, and ensure proper irrigation.
- Care for livestock by providing feed, water, and shelter, and ensuring their well-being.
- Manage daily farm operations, including feeding, milking (if applicable), and general animal husbandry.
- Operate and maintain farming equipment such as tractors, planters, harvesters, and other machinery.
- Adhere to agricultural regulations and best practices for sustainability and safety.
- Work collaboratively with the team to achieve farm goals and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of crop yields, livestock health, and daily activities.
- Assist in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for farming operations.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and infrastructure to ensure smooth farm operations.
