As a shearer, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely shearing sheep to collect high-quality wool. You will work as part of a team in an animal-friendly environment, ensuring the well-being of our flock while maintaining productivity. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work with animals and is eager to learn and grow in this field.
Responsibilities:
- Operate shearing equipment, including hand tools and mechanical sheep shears.
- Safely handle and shear sheep using appropriate techniques.
- Prepare sheep by restraining them properly before shearing.
- Inspect and maintain shearing equipment to ensure it is functioning correctly.
- Monitor the health and welfare of the flock during the shearing process.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to company policies.
Skill Requirements:
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and hardworking.
- Physical stamina and strength, as the role involves repetitive movements and working in a physically demanding environment.
- Attention to detail to ensure precise shearing results.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.

- Good communication skills for interacting with farm staff and owners (if applicable).
