Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patients' speech, language, and swallowing abilities through various diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans tailored to meet individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Provide direct therapy sessions to patients in individual or group settings.
- Document progress, set goals, and report outcomes to patients, families, and referring healthcare providers.
- Educate and support families in understanding communication disorders and strategies to help their loved ones.
- Stay updated with the latest research, tools, and best practices in speech pathology.
Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Eligibility for state licensure (licensure can be obtained after employment).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and families.
- Empathy and patience to support individuals with diverse communication needs.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining patient records and documentation.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
