We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Shearer Operator. In this role, you will operate shearing machinery to cut materials such as metal plates or bars, ensuring precision, safety, and efficiency in our operations. This is a full-time permanent position that offers the opportunity for growth and development within an industrial setting.
Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate shearing equipment to cut materials according to specifications.
- Monitor machine performance, adjust settings as needed, and ensure optimal operation.
- Inspect raw materials and finished products to maintain quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on the machinery, including cleaning and lubrication.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and workplace policies.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve production goals.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or potential hazards to the appropriate personnel.
Skill Requirements:
- Experience: No prior experience is required, but up to 3 years of relevant experience in shearing or metal fabrication is an asset.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of shearing processes and machinery operation.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to learn and work with mechanical tools and equipment.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on producing precise cuts and maintaining quality standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Identify and resolve issues related to machine performance or material defects.
- Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a production environment.
- Time Management: Efficiently complete tasks within specified timelines.
- Physical Stamina: The ability to stand, operate machinery, and lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the day.
